Oradea – A city with a soul

Crypto Plunid LLC received an invitation to participate in the regional fintech festival called UNCHAIN. The festival took place in the city fortress of Oradea, located in northwestern Romania.

First, a few words about Oradea. The city feels like it doesn’t belong to Romania — it’s clear that significant investments have been made, and the public spaces look clean and well-maintained. The fortress, though not very large, was perfectly suited for the needs of this fintech festival.

UNCHAIN festival dedicated two full days exclusively to bankers, CEOs, and FinTech & FinServices founders from SEE (Southeastern Europe). Compact and to the point. Panels on the main stage were focused on banking innovation, the future of payments, and new regulations. Nearly everything other was geared toward the startups: one-on-one meetings with investors, mentoring sessions, and the main competition held within the fortress premises.

The investors in Oradea were primarily focused on smaller-scale investments in pre-seed and seed-stage projects, which made our funding ask for Plunid too large cake for them. Some investors offered encouraging words, while others expressed sincere doubts about the future and value of the Plunid project. While we fully respect everyone’s right to their opinion and are always open to honest feedback, we remain firmly committed to continuing the development of Plunid.

We had a wonderful time, heard many inspiring ideas, participated in the FinTech project competition (unfortunately we didn’t make it to the finals), and left with great impressions. Thank you Oradea.
